Now as many people are aware, many features of the iPhone OS 3.0 were announced earlier today. I’ve just had a quick gander at some of the announcements (thanks to engadget for coverage) and I am really liking what I see.

  • Over 1000 new developer API’s.
  • Peer to peer connections
  • In-app purchases
  • Embeddable Google Maps
  • Push Notification for E-Mail
  • API’s for streaming audio/video
  • Meebo native iPhone App! (Definitely my favourite internet app of all time!)
  • Cut/Copy/Paste (which of course goes across apps)
  • MMS (feature that should have been in from the beginning)

Apparently a developer beta is out now, and we should be expecting this in Summer (American time of course) so come June/July, good times for iPhone users.
